Koons earrings
Koons earrings
A bit of a pop art take on the flower, these unique statement earrings are a nod to artist Jeff Koon’s work with shiny metallic structures. They are also inspired by a childhood memory of a flower mobile.
They balance the contrast of a densely woven rare vintage lace with the shiniest of plated metals. The lace is carefully hand dyed in our curated color palette inspired by nature.
The earrings are a "front-back" style earring as the earring post is to be inserted through the back of the ear hole and held in place by a faux-pearl backing in the front. This creates a shape that opens the flower up to the front and sides and balances the weight of the earring for comfort.
The metals are highly polished 316L stainless steel and the posts are hypoallergenic.
A faux-pearl backing with a rubber insert wears at the front of the ear and hold it in place.
Measure approximately 5.5 cm long by 5.5 cm wide.
Each earring weighs approximately 9.3 grams (the pair weighs 18.6 grams together).
Care tips : Use a spot specific stain remover to clean the lace if needed ( ex: tide-to-go pen or Shout wipes). An iron or flat iron for hair may be used to shape the lace if desired. Keep out of humidity as much as possible and avoid direct contact with aerosols such as perfume, hairspray or sunscreen. (These are good tips for all of your jewelry.) Limited edition due to the vintage and exotic sourcing of the materials.
