La Rose earrings are directly inspired by the classic red rose that has carried deep cultural meaning throughout human history. Mostly seen as a symbol of eternal love, I specifically had La Rose from literary classic, “Le Petit Prince” in mind when designing these earrings. A tale with profound lessons in human values we seem to be forgetting these days…
These large yet quite light weight statement pieces are composed of hand dyed vintage lace meticulously hand sewn into 3 dimensional shapes with raw brass stems. They are available in rose inspired colours mimicking the botanical world. As the dyes are hand mixed, the colors may vary slightly.
La Rose is available as a pair of earrings or a single earring and come with both our disc backings and our faux-pearl ball backing which allows you to wear them as a pin style brooch as they cover and protect the ear post. (see photos)
We also offer La Rose as a lapel style brooch/pin here which is more sturdy and lays flatter on apparel. I recommend this option for those who don’t intend to wear them as earrings.
Comes on hypoallergenic gold plated 316 steel ear post, with 2 stopper options included : a faux-pearl ball for structure and a disk backing. The Faux-pearl backing does allow to wear as a brooch but will not lay completely flat so keep that in mind.
Flower measures approximately 3.5 cm in width. Total length from top to bottom is 7.5 cm.
Each earring weighs approximately 9 grams including backing.
Care tips : Spot clean white lace with stain removers such as '“Tide-to-go” or “Shout” wipes. Brass is raw and may be polished as many times as desired with a polishing pad of cloth (available here).
